Clamper
Lagoa Santa, MG, Brazil 2022BCMF Arquitetos designed the administrative headquarters of CLAMPER, located in Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais. Founded in 1989, the company is one of the leading specialists in the research and development of solutions for protecting electronic devices against damage caused by lightning and electrical surges. CLAMPER’s Surge Protection Devices (SPD) feature technology certified by renowned national and international institutions and have received numerous awards related to quality and supply credibility.
The project consists of renovating an existing two-story building, transforming it into a new workspace — the administrative headquarters — reflecting CLAMPER’s ideals through both its form and content. The façade was reconfigured to include new, large openings that connect the interior and exterior of the building, bringing the gardens inside and providing natural lighting.
On the ground floor, visitors find the reception area and common spaces such as the restaurant, café, and game areas, meeting contemporary workplace demands such as flexibility, breakout spaces, horizontality, comfort, and informality, while also addressing the program’s specific needs. The second floor features sets of linear workstations, organized according to the various departments, as well as meeting rooms with flexible layouts, private rooms, an integrated kitchen, and a terrace.
The two floors are connected in two ways. First, through a staircase located in a double-height hall, entirely painted red and inspired by the company’s logo, extending through the remaining areas of vertical circulation throughout the building. Second, through a large bleacher-style staircase with broad steps and generous landings that not only allow circulation but also encourage interaction among people. These shared interactive spaces not only offer stress relief and relaxation but also stimulate work and productivity.
