Welcome.

Albertão Stadium

Opened in 1973 and designed by Minas Gerais architect Raul de Lagos Cirne, the Albertão Stadium stands out as an icon of brutalist architecture in Teresina. Over the years, the effects of time have compromised the integrity of this emblematic work, prompting the Piauí State Government to plan its renovation and modernization. Through a public-private partnership, structured by Alvarez & Marsal on the technical (demand and engineering) and financial fronts, the project seeks to renovate the stadium and ensure the management and maintenance of the facility by the private partner. BCMF Arquitetos, responsible for the revitalization project, saw Albertão as more than just a sports facility: an opportunity to reconnect history and functionality, offering the community a public space of excellence that goes beyond the stadium's boundaries.

Each stage of the work sought to integrate tradition and innovation: the façade was restored faithfully to its original form, while the interior was reconfigured with contemporary zoning and standards, elevating Albertão to the level of the world's great arenas.

Our concept goes beyond soccer. The stadium is reborn as a multipurpose complex, integrated with the Albertão Park, where sports, culture, leisure, and commerce coexist in perfect harmony. Tree-lined esplanades invite the population to enjoy the space daily, while new shopping centers and social areas connect the arena to the urban fabric.

More than just a renovation, we delivered a project that values the past and projects the future, revitalizing the stadium and its surroundings, promoting urban development, and giving the population a renewed symbolic work, resuming its position as a cultural and architectural landmark in the city of Teresina.
